Free electronics/old tires recycling event Nov. 16 for Columbia residents

Note from neighbor Rod Robison:

Old tires laying around? Burnt-out speakers taking up space? The City of Columbia's Neighborhood Services is sponsoring a free recycling event next Saturday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your old tires and electronics to the Columbia/Boone County Department of Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St.  City staff and volunteers will be set up in the parking lot on the west side of the building.

Please DO NOT bring household hazardous waste items such as paint, motor oil and cleaning chemicals--we are not able to collect these. The HHW facility at the Grissum Building , 1313 Lakeview Ave., will be open November 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., however, if you have these sorts of items to drop off.
